Their Story
I was born in the country Burundi. I fled from Burundi to Uganda in 2000 due to the long civil war (1993 – 2005), where at least 300,000 people died. I came to know the Lord early in my time in Uganda. I struggled to find a church that taught the Word of God simply and directly until I came to Calvary Chapel Kampala. My faith grew rapidly while attending Calvary Chapel Kampala and then I graduated from the church’s Bible College. Eventually, I came on staff as a pastor and I am now pastoring Calvary Chapel Kirundi, where I minister to others who have fled war-torn Burundi and teach the Word of God verse by verse in our native language, Kirundi.
