Ministry History
Eight years ago, the vision for The Refuge of Hope was born within the community of Calvary Chapel Cajabamba. Pastor Juan and Sandra recognized the pressing need for a private orphanage as they observed numerous children being uprooted from their homes due to neglect, physical, and sexual abuse. These vulnerable kids had nowhere to turn as nearby orphanages were at full capacity. In response, Pastor Juan and Sandra opened their own home to provide shelter for these children. Over time, the church congregation rallied behind the cause, with more families opening their homes. Eventually, this collective effort culminated in the initiative to begin construction on The Refuge of Hope in April 2022. With faith in the Lord's provision, the goal is to complete the construction in 2024 and officially open the doors. The Refuge of Hope will stand as a beacon of hope and security, offering solace to those who have nowhere else to turn.
