In Nov. 2014, I was sent as a missionary to a great team in Cartagena that had just planted a church. My focus was working with the youth and children of the church & from the Island of Tierra Bomba. During my time there, I was challenged because I thought I had been called to save the masses (silly), and though God allowed me to work in kingdom business, I was in for a ride. God challenged me in personal ways that I wasn't aware needed working, healing, and growth. After serving there for 7 years and facing some difficult lessons and challenges, I was called back to Florida, where I had the opportunity to use my teaching degree at a wonderful elementary school.

These past 4 years have been a fantastic opportunity to heal many hurts and to grow in areas where I thought I had mastered (crazy thought, right?), I am well aware that I am a work in progress and God is not done with me yet. Meanwhile, in my heart, I still had a burning love for the people of Tierra Bomba & Cartagena and for what God is doing there. Ever since I left, I have been praying for God to please open up the door again to return, and it is finally the right time. This year, my church’s focus on God’s call to ‘Go’ confirmed the timing of my return.

I’m thrilled to rejoin the mission, helping with administration at the church’s growing school, which prioritizes students’ spiritual, disciplinary, character, and academic development. My time in Florida has prepared me to serve the youth and children of Tierra Bomba with renewed passion.
